EARLY CHILD HOOD MALARIA DEATHS
The deaths from malaria in the 2-5 year old age group in the small village of Maganda was five in 2015. In 2016 , bio-sand filters were introduced to conveniently produce safe water from clear water. Malaria deaths among the 2 -5 olds fell to two. In 2017, the malaria deaths among the 2-5 year olds fell to “0”. In 2018 and the first eight months of 2019, there continued to be no malaria deaths among 2-5 year olds in Maganda. In Kenya, 15 % of babies born alive do not make it to their fifth birthday. posted 9/19
